1 Tbsp marshmallow root (cut/sifted, not powdered) (moistening, subtle sweetness)
1⁄4 tsp vanilla extract (flavor, sweetness)
Directions
Combine dry ingredients in a 16-ounce container. Cover with just-boiled water.
Steep for at least 1 hour, though several hours (or overnight or throughout the day) is even better.
Strain, squeezing out all the mucilaginous and nutritious goodness, and sip hot or cold, plain or with added sweetener and creamer. Oat milk with honey or maple syrup is quite nice.
Notes
If you are allergic to oats, you can leave the oat straw out or add in marshmallow leaf or root in its place.
